#1- On Faith

What is the most important issue in your opinion and why?

As humanity advances, so do its conflicts. We've reached a point in human history where there are essentially too many of us to all be pleased. With this being said, a seemingly logical resolution to one issue (ex. increased manufacturing-increasing jobs, economy, global wealth etc.) imposes devastating reprocussions on an adjacent issue (in this case, environment.). There is no possible way to please every individual on planet Earth. Regardless, this is our cross to bear as humans.

I would like to mention before I write this that it is not my wish to offend others when I say, religion is the most devastating tool mankind has constructed. This is not to say that a higher power does not exist, but relying on one proceeds with incredibly dangerous consequences. Religion (not just christianity) provides humans with a unquestionable justification for heinous acts, including genocide, racism, poverty, and moral confusion.

With this being the 21st century, our world is faced with serious issues that could potentially destroy us in the near future. It is now that we must use the gift that our species was awarded with through evolution (yes it happened, that's the truth) which is quite simply incredible knowledge and logic. The next generations of humans must be logical and empirical voters, they must be able to examine data and deduce conclusions, and it is precisely this that should be our goal as educators and parents. Hold your belief to yourself (anything you want), as bizzare as it may be, just please do not incorporate it into politics, global decisions, and certainly not to future generations.

Man kind no longer has a need to advance, but rather it must begin to sustain itself at this point. We have the technology and the knowledge to make life much easier, we have all experienced it. Please leave your faith to yourself.
